We have received reports of gang activity East of Ashland on Chestnut. There has been increased activity in the Erie/Wood area, so vigilant responses will be needed to beat back territory creep. There are two safe, primary ways to take an active role:
- Call 911. Every time you see suspicious activity, unwelcome loitering, public consumption of alcohol, what appear to be illegal street transactions, call 911. The more calls that are made, the more attention will be paid.
- Attend the Beat 1323 CAPS meeting. The next 1323 Beat meeting will be Wednesday, Oct 21, at 7PM at Northwestern Settlement House. Here you can meet and discuss neighborhood issues with the officers who patrol our neighborhood.
We’ve been fortunate to see new businesses in our neighborhood, but in order for our neighborhood to continue to improve, we must take an active role.
